Temple of the Oracle

Dedicado ao deus Amun. Alexandre, o Grande consultou o oráculo em 331 AC porque queria saber se era o filho de Zeus (Ammon), o Deus dos Deuses. Na resposta obteve a informação que procurava. Antes de morrer, disse que queria ser enterrado ao lado de seu pai (Siwa). Morreu na Babilônia e seu corpo foi transportado em procissão até o Egito, e Ptolomeu ordenou que ele fosse sepultado em Alexandria, a cidade que tinha fundado. Mas o mistério permanece, porque o túmulo na Alexandria nunca foi encontrado.
A entrada 20 LE (em 2005), fica pela metade se é estudante. Eu não precisei de apresentar nenhum cartão, dizer que é estudante basta (10 LE = 1,50 €).

Resto muito pouco do templo, em alguns pontos foi restaurados(daquela forma). O melhor são as vistas do oásis e lago salgado que convidam a meditar. Contempla-se desde daqui a antiga aldeia abandonada de Aghurmi, o primeiro assentamento do oásis.
